Cycle drives

In order to convert production of series machines from stationary assembly to assembly lines precise and simultaneous sequencing of assembly stations is decisive for efficient cycle assembly.

HORSTKEMPER not only supplies integrated drives within respective assembly platform but also central cycle drives that move all platforms simultaneously. In this context trolleys on a rail system may all be pre-sequenced simultaneously.

Flow assembly lines with a length of up to 100 meters and a combined weight of all assembly stations of up to 600 tons may easily be pre-sequenced. The return stroke of the cycle drive takes place during non-productive times, when assembly on the line is already in progress. Consequently keeping the actual sequencing period as short as possible.

Besides equal distances between assembly stations, a central cycle drive also offers a decisive advantage: all assembly platforms within a flow assembly line are passive machines. There is no periphery, that requires elaborate power supplies.
