Expansion of production facilities

Rietberg-Mastholte – HORSTKEMPER Maschinenbau GmbH

HORSTKEMPER Maschinenbau GmbH recently celebrated the expansion of its production facilities with over 250 guests. In addition to representatives from the companies involved in the construction, employees and their families also attended the roofing ceremony. The completion of the building’s shell was celebrated by hanging the traditional roofing wreath.

Horstkemper Maschinenbau GmbH has established itself as a manufacturer of custom systems and special-purpose machines for customers across a wide range of industries. Founded in 1952 as a metalworking shop, the company has evolved over its more than seventy-year history into an internationally active mechanical engineering firm. The company focuses on customized solutions and a high degree of vertical integration. Its product portfolio ranges from transport and handling technology to special-purpose machines, as well as storage and material flow systems, all the way to solutions in the field of press automation.

With the new building, the production area will now be expanded by 2,000 square meters. Construction has been underway since April 2024 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. In his remarks, Christopher Horstkemper emphasized the importance of the expansion: “The new building will enable us to continue developing high-performance, customized systems for our customers and to test them in our factory.” This is because assembling and pre-commissioning systems in-house ensures flawless functionality at the customer’s site and enhances quality. With the additional space gained through the new building, larger systems can now also be built, according to Horstkemper. During the event, the company also announced the addition of another machining center to its machinery fleet. Through ongoing investments in innovative manufacturing technologies and its operational infrastructure, the company aims to strengthen its market position and position itself for the future.

Managing Directors Norbert Horstkemper and Helmut Wiesing took the opportunity to thank the employees for their dedication and the construction companies for their trusting cooperation. Over food and drinks, guests were able to get a sense of the construction progress and take a look behind the scenes of the company. The apprentices organized a special program for the occasion: Guests could have personalized cell phone holders and bottle openers made on the production machines in the company’s extensive machine park and even try their hand at the process themselves. Meanwhile, a bounce house and all kinds of games kept the younger guests entertained.

As part of the celebrations, donations totaling 6,000 euros were collected to support the work of the Balthasar Children’s and Youth Hospice in Olpe.
