Efficient use of space is crucial for high-performance warehouse operations.
Storage and Order Picking Systems
HORSTKEMPER's automated storage and order-picking systems help increase capacity and streamline operations.
HORSTKEMPER on-floor storage systems enable smart, efficient, and material-friendly panel storage for a wide variety of materials and formats. They form the basis for a process-optimized material feed system featuring high-performance loading and unloading, flexible scrap management, and optimal use of space.
The on-floor storage management software ensures a continuous, automated flow of goods. Fast access, unmanned operation, and high adaptability increase efficiency and reduce labor costs.
HORSTKEMPER magazines enable the automatic stacking and destacking of EURO and disposable pallets, base boards, special pallets, KLT containers, load carriers, and special racks. They ensure orderly storage, save storage space, and can serve as floating storage by storing and retrieving pallets as needed.
With automatic width adjustment and motorized lifting, they can handle various dimensions and supply multiple production lines. This makes it possible to automate internal pallet systems or disposable pallets with just one magazine. T-Cars make it easy to collect empty EURO pallets in high-bay warehouses.
Automated stacker cranes handle intralogistical transport tasks in high-bay warehouses, such as the fully automated storage, retrieval, and order picking of individual items. Warehouse management software sends orders directly to the stacker crane, which retrieves the requested goods.
Orders are pre-picked: The vacuum crossbar picks up a base board and stacks it on the stacking crossbar in reverse production order. When requested, the finished stack is placed on the conveyor system and forwarded to the next process. Returned items, such as base boards or sheet scraps, are automatically returned to storage.
Applications:
- Fully automated picking of half-size panels with integrated scrap return
- Order picking of furniture fronts before they are conveyed to the cutting and edge-banding machines
- Storage and retrieval of plastic panels with batch tracking
- Small parts warehouse with KLT boxes
- Long-item warehouse
The stacking system is used for aligning and doubling heavy stacks of material. As shown, the stacking system precisely stacks two stacks on top of each other. Optionally, a base board or cardboard can be placed underneath. The system includes a highly flexible timber loader with an axis-controlled positioning system.
A sorting buffer system buffers workpieces between machining steps and makes them available in an optimized sequence for the next process. This allows for more efficient workflows in furniture and door production—both during the manufacturing process and prior to shipping—and enables the realization of new opportunities for process optimization.
